John's Island Chapel

The inspiration for this piece is found in the tiny, island churches located on Johns Island, South Carolina. I pass these simple country churches on a weekly basis and is inspired by their charm, simplicity and spirit. Although rustic in appearance, the energy and holiness radiating from these humble structures is abundant and overflowing.

On Sunday Mornings, the church parking lots are packed full of cars. The music can be heard flowing from within and the joy resonating through song.

I have had the honor and pleasure to attend services at several of the island churches. I hope to capture the elation, the exuberance and the energy I experience in my depiction of these heavenly structures.

Can be hung or stands alone.
