Can you spot the four washers, the wire and the bottle caps used in this piece? This happy composition has layers of detail including the mixed media bird, the pink posies, and the blades of green grass. Created from a piece of salvaged wood that has been primed and then painted a washed blue and white. The bird is made from recycled cardboard and covered in paper collage created from old magazines. A bottle cap, pull tabs and pieces of an old soup can serve as the bird's wings. The posies are made from washers and wire and topped with ball bearings. The combination of bright colors and the repurposed items are a wonderful marriage of industry and art. This piece is a whimsical delight and resembles a slice of Spring. It is framed in twigs as an added surprise.
