Fall is the season with the richest Earth colors. This piece is created to reflect some of those luscious colors such as the browns, greens and tans. And there is no better subject to capture the variety of browns you see in the Fall than acorns. Acorns change their colors just like leaves, but do so less dramatically. If you study an acorn closely, you will find the most gorgeous shades of brown, gold and fern green.
Created from a piece of salvaged wood painted fern green and white, the back drop to this piece already feels warm and cozy. A variety of acorns have been made from wood scraps, wire and metal scraps. The acorns are painted in an array of colors to reflect their natural color change. Found Objects such as wire and metal accent the composition and add a raw dimension. Twigs frame the piece and give it a rustic finished look.
